Raabia Qasim is a dedicated public interest attorney and proud native New Yorker. She serves as the Associate Policy Counsel at the New York City Bar Association, where she works at the intersection of law and public policy. In this role, she coordinates the City Bar’s policy initiatives, legislative efforts, and advocacy work. She also partners with City Bar leadership and committees to develop policy positions on some of the most pressing legal and social issues.

Prior to joining the City Bar, Raabia served as an in-house attorney for the City of New York She started her career as a Social Justice Legal Fellow with the NYC Council on its General Welfare Committee and Committee on Women and Gender Equity, where she helped pass more equitable legislation and policies for women and other marginalized communities. After graduating from law school, she worked as a Legal Fellow with the NYC Bar Association's Office of Diversity and Inclusion. She is a graduate of CUNY Law School.

Her commitment to public service extends beyond her professional role. Raabia is a former Vice President of Public Interest for the South Asian Bar Association of New York (SABANY) and continues to serve on SABANY’s Public Interest Fellowship Selection Committee, supporting students pursuing unpaid public interest internships.

Raabia is also active in leadership development initiatives. She was named a 2022 New Leaders Council Fellow and a 2023 Council of Urban Professionals Fellow, programs dedicated to supporting diverse, cross-sector changemakers and mid-career professionals. She was also recognized by Modern Counsel in its inaugural 35 Under 35 class for her leadership and influence in the legal profession.
