Nayab Hayat Khan

Nayab Khan is a third-year law student at Fordham Law School where she is a Stein Scholar in Public Interest Law and Ethics. Originally from New York, she graduated from Wellesley College in 2020 with a BA in History and Religion. During college, she tutored incarcerated women at South Middlesex Correctional and conducted research on the Cold War's relationship with the development of Islamic law. Since starting law school, she has done asylum work in Istanbul and New York and has worked on wrongful conviction litigation and federal criminal defense. She is interested in immigrants' rights, particularly with regard to detention and removal, and incarcerated people's rights.
